First, the beam does not hold a clean enough connection to stream. Anything you connect to it wired has degraded visual quality. Any app you run directly from the beam is also degraded. I connect directly to my android phone, Legion Go, Steam Deck, and Nintendo Switch via Viture. None of those require the Beam. I use a Viture Charge and Play as it works as a Switch dock and provides a charge to anything connected to it. Skip the beam.

That makes sense. Though, I am not sure exactly how much tech is necessary to make something like this work and go into the glasses. I do agree though, it is something that should come with or maybe have a discount for current Air owners.

However, having to spend an extra $120 to make a $400 device work properly is a little ridiculous. Xreal obviously realized that these were necessary additions to the platform. So, either integrated them into the glasses themselves or the Beam should be a box in.
