When it comes to survival games, there's something about space that intrigues me. I love the idea of going to new planets, gathering resources from asteroids, and building bases using advanced technology. Astrometica looks like it encompasses all of that and more, and with the newest experimental update, it should be better to explore and build on the go.

In the new update, which is exclusive to the experimental branch of the game, we have a specific change for the Steam Deck. The changelog notes that there have been Steam Deck optimization improvements, and while it doesn't list exactly what they did, I love seeing any improvements. There was also added gamepad support for Seeker weapons that should help playing on the Deck as well.
On top of those, the update adds in general performance optimizations, docking station improvements, the Ancient Gate Arm has a reduced resource cost, and Lumen lighting got an improvement in habitat rooms. We also have a setting to change screen resolution and a bunch of bug fixes across the board.
You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.

Astrometica is on sale for $13.99 until August 4th and is rated Unsupported. However, reports on ProtonDB indicate that the game is playable once you use a better controller layout.
