There are a lot of reasons one could find to emulate PS4, but the biggest one for most people is Bloodborne. Regarded as one of From Software's best soulslikes, Bloodborne has often been a hot topic for many people who either want to see it get ported to PS5 with enhancements or have a PC version released. While neither has happened, the best we can do is use shadPS4 to emulate it, and it looks like it's going to get a lot more enjoyable, too.

While SteamDeckHQ does support emulation and preservation, we do NOT support piracy. All games being tested are dumped from legally purchased games of ours. We will never link to any websites or sources to download any ROMs.

shadPS4 Bloodborne

In a new blog post made by the team, they have started teasing their upcoming update by showing off some massive performance improvements for Bloodborne. There was a new PR merged that seems to very much increase performance pretty heavily, going from fluctuating 60-70 FPS in version 0.12.0 to 86-87 FPS in version 0.12.6. It's a small video overall, but that does show a lot of promise for this upcoming version and 0.13.0.

The team also posted a much longer video showcasing more gameplay with the new version, and it's pretty great. Most of the time, it sticks to 60 FPS, with only a few areas and a boss battle slowing down into the 40s. However, this is still an overall great increase and should result in more stable gameplay.

It seems we are getting closer and closer to a fully playable and enjoyable Bloodborne on PC, and I think that is something wonderful to celebrate.

You can download shadPS4 from their GitHub, or check it out through EmuDeck or RetroDECK. This version doesn't seem to be released yet, but it's great to see progress!
